It is the official language or one of multiple official languages in 25 countries, ARABIC ranks fifth in the world's league table of languages, with an estimated 422 million native speakers  residing in Middle East and Northern Africa .

It  is the most spoken language in the group of Semitic Language which also includes Hebrew and Amharic, the main language of Ethiopia.

Arabic language is of paramount importance to Muslims  As the language of the Qur'an, the holy book of Islam , It is  also taught formally or informally in Islamic countries and African countries bordering the Arab nation.

It is one of the six official languages of the United Nations, and celebrates the World Day of the Arabic language on December 18, commemorating the adoption of Arabic among the working languages of the United Nations .

There are many Arabic dialects. Classical Arabic – the language of the Qur'an – was originally the dialect of Mecca in what is now Saudi Arabia. An adapted form of this, known as Modern Standard Arabic, is used in books, newspapers, on television and radio, in the mosques,  in conversation between educated Arabs from different countries and at international conferences , there are various spoken dialects of Arabic that differ from Modern Standard Arabic and differ from place to another place , Local dialects vary, and a Moroccan might have difficulty understanding an Iraqi, even though they speak the same language .

The key to learning Arabic is to learn Modern Standard Arabic as a foundation, and also learn the main dialect of the country or area you are most interested in, or will have the most interaction with .

Many other languages use words whose language of origin is Arabic ,  Arabic was very much used in Europe for the study of culture , mathematics, science, and physics. Mostly Mediterranean languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, Maltese, and Sicilian use many Arab words in their dialect. This may be mainly because of close relations between Arab and European civilizations and the Arab rule in the Iberian Peninsula for 700 years.

On the other hand Arabic has also borrowed words from other Semitic languages such  Hebrew and Assyrian. It has also recently borrowed some words from modern day European languages.

There are 28 consonants and three vowels – a,  i, u – which can be short or long. Some of the sounds are unique to Arabic and difficult for foreigners to pronounce exactly, though you should be able to make yourself understood .

The normal word order of a sentence is verb/subject/object , Feminine nouns add the suffix …aat to form the plural but masculine nouns generally have a "broken" plural which involves changing vowels in the middle of the word : kursi ("chair") ; karasi ("chairs") .

Arabic has very few irregular verbs and does not use "is" or "are" at all in the present tense: "the see blue " means " the see is blue " .

Learning Arabic is not easy,  But it has a great history and tradition,  It is one of the most captivating languages that if you learn will ever speak.
